Please mark your calendars now for auditions for this special Halloween show. They are tentatively set for August 12 and 13th at 7:00 pm at the theatre. The production dates are tentatively set for October 23, 24, 25, 30, 31 and November 1st, 2008. Best way to provide financial support is to become a Picketwire Patron. Undesignated donations and memorials are always welcome. Clothing (for costumes) or items useful as stage props are accepted. Picketwire Players is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
PICKETWIRE CENTER NEEDS DIRECTORS/VOLUNTEERS
Do you happen to be someone who likes to pay attention to detail? Are you a person who considers yourself artistic? If you are artistic then we have your empty canvas! We have your lump of clay! We have your block of granite! We have what you need to fulfill your creative urgings! We would like you to consider directing a play as an artistic endeavor that could be your way of reflecting your creative side.
As you well know, there are no paid positions at the Picketwire Center. All positions are filled by volunteers. We have a very hard working and active board (all volunteers) who at times will take on the responsibility of directing a play. These are dedicated people who take board positions to further the enjoyment of the arts by keeping the Picketwire Center active and alive. At times these gracious people who share their time and talents become taxed to the limits. At various times in the history of Picketwire, a plea has gone out to the public asking for help. It’s time for that plea to go out again. This particular plea is for help in the area of directing a play or plays for the Picketwire Center. Because Picketwire is a community theatre and actually belongs to the people of the Arkansas Valley, it is to you that this plea extends. This plea doesn’t mean that you have to direct a play tomorrow or next month but that you might consider directing at some point in the future. We would like to hear your ideas or proposals for accepting this responsibility. Of course the hard working board that I talk about before is here to help new directors in the areas of publicity, costuming, lighting, ticket sales and other areas that fall in the area of production. We all know what it takes to direct a play and are patient and willing to work with new directors in any way possible. If you feel that this is something that you would like to know or hear more about, then just call the Center at 384-8320 and leave a message with your phone number, or send an e-mail. You will be contacted so a time can be arranged to talk to any or all board members. Please consider this endeavor and give Picketwire a chance to showcase the artistic side of you.
