The Picketwire Players are excited to open their 2020 season with Patrick Barlow’s hilarious parody of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film The 39 Steps.
The 39 Steps follows the adventures of Richard Hannay, a young man whose boring life is suddenly turned upside down when a beautiful woman claiming to be a spy is murdered in his apartment. Wanted for murder and on a quest to clear his name, Hannay finds himself running from the police, as well as an international organization of spies.

Directed by Heather Pidcock-Reed and Assistant Director Tom Seaba, this zany, fast-paced comedy is performed by a cast of four principal actors. Jeffery Snyder plays Richard Hannay. Lexington Summers plays Annabella, Pamela, and Margaret, the three women he has romantic entanglements with. Bonnie Grossen and Destini Tafoya play the Clowns, who take on nearly every other role within the play.
The cast of “The 39 Steps” also consists of Teagan Summers, Kaydence Lagergren, Rachel Vandiver, and Sara Vandiver. Known as the 4th Wall, this role within the show blends the onstage and backstage worlds together, offering audiences a unique theatre-going experience.
The 39 Steps will be performed on July 23, 24, and 25 at 7:30 p.m., as well as on July 26 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are currently on sale at www.picketwireplayers.org. Patrons will be able to purchase tickets in person beginning at 5:30p.m. on the days of the show. Due to COVID-19, seating will be limited.
