Magic Comes to Picketwire This Summer

(La Junta, CO) – One of Stephen Sondheim’s most popular works, the powerhouse Broadway musical “Into the Woods”combines the classic fairytale characters from the Brothers Grimm with the Broadway brilliance of Sondheim and James Lapine to create magic. The story follows a baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, they set off on a journey to break it. They all end up in the woods where their stories collide.

Director Tracey Salzbrenner returns to the Picketwire stage this summer for her fifth production.
