Who will you audition for?

Auditions, Featured, Latest News, News Releases, Productions, Summer

Auditions for the award-winning comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong, by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer & Henry Shields, will be held at the Picketwire Center, 802 San Juan Ave., La Junta, on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 2 & 3 at 6:30pm. Auditions are open to everyone 16+!

Annie is the Company’s Stage Manager. She has an American accent. She’s a woman between the ages of 20-60. She’s a bit quirky and must play the part of Florence midway through the show after Florence gets knocked out.          

Trevor is the Company’s Lighting and Sound Operator. He has an American accent. Trevor is desperately looking for his lost music CD as well as Winston, the company dog, need for later in the show. He is thrust into briefly playing the part of Florence at the end of the show when things go wrong. He’s a man between the ages of 20-60.    

Chris is the Director of the Murder at Haversham Manor, the play within The Play That Goes Wrong, and Head of the Cornley Drama Society. He also plays Inspector Carter. He’s a man between the age of 20-60.

Jonathan plays Charles Haversham in the Murder at Haversham Manor, the play within The Play That Goes Wrong. He plays the deceased, is engaged to Florence, and brother to Cecil Haversham. He’s an awkward man of marrying age, between 20-40. 

Robert plays Thomas Colleymoore, Florences’ brother and Charles’ best friend in the Murder at Haversham Manor, the play within The Play That Goes Wrong. Robert is a man age 20-40.  

Dennis plays Perkins, Charles’ butler in the Murder at Haversham Manor, the play within The Play That Goes Wrong. Perkins is a man age 20-70.  

Max plays Cecil Haversham and Arthur the Gardener in the Murder at Haversham Manor, the play within The Play That Goes Wrong. He is Charles’ brother and is having an affair with Florence. Robert is a man of marrying age 20-40.  

Sandra plays Florence Colleymoore in The Murder at Haversham Manor, in The Play That Goes Wrong. Sandra is Charles Havershams’ fiance, Thomas Colleymoore’s sister and is having an affair with Cecil Haversham. She’s a woman of marrying age between 20-40.

Stage Crew / Run Crew are part of the Cornley Drama Society production crew. They interact with theatre goers at the beginning of the show and make cameo appearances during the production. They are crew members that power the scene changes, prop handoffs and onstage “magic” for the production. They will move set pieces, operate falling set pieces, set and reset props on stage, and so on.

The production dates of The Play That Goes Wrong are July 6-8 @ 7:30 PM.

Come audition for this zany show, and please, be prepared to fill out an audition form, perform a short 1-3 minute monologue, read from the script, and interact with 2-3 other auditioneers.
