The final night of auditions for Picketwire’s production of “Drinking Habits” is on October 21^st from 7-9 p.m. This hilarious play is directed by first-time director Angelica Leija and features the following parts for women and men ages 18+:

Sister Philamena (f) – Age range 20- mid 50s. One of the nuns who lives at the Sister of Perpetual Sewing. Has secretly been making wine for several years with Sister Augusta in order to keep the convent open. She is sweet, cautious, and easily flustered. Both Sister Philamena and Sister Augusta are devout and are dedicated to their calling.

Sister Augusta (f) – Age range 20- mid 50s. One of the nuns who lives at the Sister of Perpetual Sewing. Has secretly been making wine for several years with Sister Philamena in order to keep the convent open. She is the “rebel” nun, a little mischievous, but a quick thinker. Both Sister Philamena and Sister Augusta are devout and are dedicated to their calling.

Sally (f) – Age range 20s- 30s. Award-winning newspaper reporter. Used to be engaged to Paul. She left him standing at the alter to cover an important story. Quick witted and sometimes sharped tonged. Independent and a little self-centered.

Paul (m) – Age range 20s-30s. Newspaper reporter. Co-worker and former fiancé of Sally. Love struck and heart broken. He’s a good writer, but his conscience sometimes gets in the way of his reporting.

George (m) – He is the caretaker and gardener of the convent. Nice, sweet, simple man. “I’m just here” type of attitude.

Sister Mary Catherine (f) – Age range 20s- early 30s. Actually a novice nun sent to the convent to finish her training. She is meek, timid, and doe-eyed.

Mother Superior (f) – Age range 40s- early 60s. Has been in charge of the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing for many years. Hate alcohol, especially wine. She is a straight arrow with a dark history.

Father Chenille (m) – Age range 40s-early 60s. Priest of the local parish the convent is next to. He is patient, understanding, and a bit of a jokester. Fun uncle energy.
