Auditions for “Drinking Habits” Announced
While Picketwire’s fall production of “Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe” is still in full swing (tickets for Saturday night’s show are on sale now at www.picketwireplayers.org/tickets), another production is waiting in the wings. Auditions for “Drinking Habits” are on October 19 and 21 from 7-9 p.m at the Picketwire Center for Performing and Visual Arts. Directed by Angelica Leija, this hilarious play is scheduled to hit the Picketwire stage on December 10, 11, and 12.
In “Drinking Habits,” accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in this traditional, laugh-out-loud farce. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancees, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves.
“Drinking Habits” features roles for five women and three men. All roles are for those 18 and up. Auditions will be held in person, in accordance with social distancing practices. Masks will be required. Audition goers can expect to read from a selection of the script.
