Murder Mystery Opens This Week at Picketwire

MM_Tober MascarenasLightning flashes as a thunder clap echoes off into the distance. Suddenly the quiet of the night is pierced by a blood-curdling scream and … the roar of audience laughter. You know that autumn has arrived when the Picketwire Center for Performing and Visual arts opens its doors for their fall show. This autumn they have selected a delightfully suspenseful and hilarious offering: “Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery.” Written by Brian D. Taylor and directed by Picketwire veteran Elizabeth Randall.

“Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery” is a classic “who dunnit?” in a fun play-within-a-play plot that challenges both the mind and the metaphysical. There is a killer loose at the Cheboygan Mystery Playhouse! Actors at the Mystery Playhouse are busy rehearsing their latest show, a British murder mystery entitled “Putting A Little English on It.” As expected at the final dress rehearsal, the lights go out and a character dies onstage — only this murder wasn’t in the script! Join the actors as they ask themselves some difficult questions: “Who dunnit?” “Who’s next?” and “Why are our British accents so bad?”.

Complete with cheesy mood music, unexpected plot twists and terrible British accents, “Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery” is sure to thrill audiences of all ages. Get in the Halloween spirit and join Picketwire for some good old fashioned “who dunnit?” fun.
“Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery” will run Oct. 9, 10, and 11th at 7:30 p.m and Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $12. Tickets can be purchased by stopping by the Picketwire Center for Performing and Visual Arts at 802 San Juan, calling 384-8320 or online by Clicking Here.
