Our 2022 Mickie Award Winners and 2023 Season!

The Picketwire Players held their Annual Meeting and Mickie Awards on Saturday, February 11, 2023. The Mickie Awards celebrated the 2022 season which consisted of four productions: Almost, Maine (directed by Kelly Jo Smith); Matilda the Musical (directed by Tracey Salzbrenner), The Haunting of Hill House (directed by Heather Pidcock-Reed); and Elf the Musical (directed by Desiree’ Goheen). 

The winners of the 2022 Mickie Awards were:

  • Best Director: Tracey Salzbrenner, Matilda the Musical
  • Best Actor: Stephen Mathews, East in Almost, Maine
  • Best Actress: Bethany Taullie, Matilda Wormwood, Matilda the Musical
  • Best Supporting Actor: Noah Nunez-Rebel, Bruce, Matilda the Musical
  • Best Supporting Actress: Hannah Smith, Miss Agatha Trunchbull, Matilda the Musical
  • Best Technician: Zach Zamora, Lighting Technician, Matilda the Musical

In addition to the above awards, each director presented a member of their cast and crew with the June Miles Spirit and Dedication Award. The recipients for each production were:

  • Almost, Maine – Dawn Smart
  • Matilda the Musical – Cameron Salzbrenner, Scott Goheen, & Zach Zamora
  • The Haunting of Hill House – Jake Pruyn
  • Elf the Musical – Caroline Finkner

The Picketwire Board of Directors also awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award to Malcham Muth. 


Following the awards, the 2023 season was announced. 

Spring

Next to Normal, directed by Tracey Salzbrenner

Summer

The Play that Goes Wrong, directed by Natalie Summers

Audition Dates: May 2 & 3

Production Dates: July 6, 7, 8

Fall

Jekyll & Hyde the Musical, directed by Heather Pidcock-Reed

Audition Dates: August 1 & 2

Production Dates: October 12-15

Winter

Peter Pan, directed by Rebecca Ayala

Audition Dates: October 16 & 17

Production Dates: December 14, 15, 16
