Founded in 1968, Picketwire Players have grown into an indispensable jewel in the Arkansas Valley. Picketwire has educated and entertained thousands of people, introduced hundreds to live theatre, helped develop tomorrow’s plays and artists, and transformed the cultural climate of our town. La Junta’s Picketwire remains steadfast in its commitment to artistic excellence and strives to create a theatre with high standards

As a non-profit, we rely on the generosity and goodwill of our community. Our Picketwire Patrons account for nearly one-third of our budget.  

On this Colorado Gives Day, we hope and encourage you to become a Picketwire Patron today. In these uncertain and difficult times, now more than ever, we need your help and support.  We have had to cancel or postpone half of our original season and some added attractions that we were planning for the 2020 year.  While we have been lucky enough to secure some grant funding to help us along, It has always been our amazing Picketwire Patrons that have kept us going for 52 years!!  They say the show must go on and it will eventually with your support. This is only an intermission!
