Picketwire Board of Directors Looking for Letters of Intent

Each year there are four open positions to serve three-year terms, Four current board members’ terms are expiring at the end of 2025. Current board members have the option of submitting letters of intent to remain on the board and if they do, their names will appear on the ballot. If you are interested in serving on the Picketwire Board, please send a letter of intent. Include why you wish to serve as a Board Member on the Picketwire Board of Directors. Your letter should also include what areas of expertise you may have that how that would best serve the Picketwire as an all volunteer 501c3 organization. The 3 year term for this election will be for 2026-2028.

CRITERIA 

‼️ All candidates must have participated in a Picketwire production or been a Patron within the past three years. ‼️

DUTIES

The board consists of up to 12 community members that meet the first Sunday of every month. The board is responsible for approving upcoming productions, handling day-to-day operations of the facility and grounds, promoting the organization and its productions/events, and any other general business that directly affects Picketwire.

Individual board member duties include assisting with productions (box office, ushers, etc.) and outside appearance as needed, as well as helping with upkeep of the building and property. Board members may be asked serve as production manager for one of the productions during the season.  

A board member may also be asked to serve on two or more of the executive committees. Those committees are: Box Office, Gala, Patron/Hospitality, Production, Grants, Finance, Inventory, Public Relations/Civic and Building & Grounds. Community members may also serve on any of these executive committees, if you’re interested in helping with a committee but not serving as a board member please send us an email.  

YOUR LETTER

Anyone interested in serving on the board should write a letter to include their interest in being a board member and their involvement with the Picketwire Players. Those who are interested should include any information that they feel would qualify them as a potential board member. 

Letters should be submitted via email and should be received no later than November 28, 2025.  Any letters received after that date will not move forward in the nomination process.  

THE PROCESS 

All qualified names will appear on the ballot. (Only vote for 4 nominees). The nominating committee, consisting of a Past President, a Community Member, and a current Board Member, will review each letter prior to the Annual Meeting and Mickie Awards to review qualifications, all qualified names will be placed on the ballot. The ballot for the Board of Directors will be presented to all active Picketwire Players (patrons & members participating in a production within the past three years) via mail prior to the Annual Meeting with the ballot for the Mickie Awards. A brief summary of board nominees’ qualifications will be included on the ballot to help members in their decision.
